Finally! The league draft is over, our teams are set, and the first edition of the League of Captains is headed for a start in five days.

It's one thing to organize a league, but it's another level to play matches. Where former leagues like the UML failed, I have tightened up, with stronger organization, a more centralized model, and other improvements.

The first week of matches is June 25. The Captains' Cup will be played on August 27.

Here's a look at the eight teams and what I think:

D4L could be quirky and strong...

This is an announcement of an unexpected Captain change.

Chilo has pulled out of being a Captain in the league as a result of real life changes. (He is still a draftable racer.)

I have named a new captain, Duckz from Fatal Aces. D4L (Duckz 4 Life) will replace The Raging Monks in the lineup.

It is a shame that this had to happen the way it did. Best of luck to both.

When I set out to create the LOC, I sought to have 16 teams. The intent was to have a playoff featuring 8 teams then a league title, the only interconference matchup. (Kinda like Major League Baseball before interleague play.)

However, I kinda saw interest plateau at 12 or 13 team Captains. So I decided that – for the stability of the league and to prevent overexpansion – our first season will have eight teams. Chap, Dino, RAW, and Revolve – the four captains whose teams will not...
